Independence Day of the Republic of Estonia

February 24: Independence Day

The Republic of Estonia was founded on 24 February 1918, when the Salvation Committee (Päästekomitee) declared the independence of the Republic of Estonia. This date was celebrated as Independence Day until the Soviet occupation of Estonia in 1940.

Happy Friendship Day


In Estonia celebrate a holiday like Valentine's Day, which is called the Friendship day. On this day people give flowers, cards, heart-shaped, often poetic, love texts (poems) - valentine. Friends exchange cards in the shape of heart (valentines) with assurances of love and friendship.

Activities in January

Children and their favorite books

 Children brought to kindergarten their favorite books,read stories and discussed them.

History books and excursions in museums

Children learned about methods of paper creation in former times and saw different kinds of paper.








Children visited the library, where they learned about the history of the book and saw a large variety of books.


Creating a book

Children created a book with own pictures. For this  they used modern technology about which learned in the classroom.







Own books

Children with their parents at home have created books with interesting stories and pictures.
